The World Premiere of the
Academy Award-nominated documentary "Long Night’s
Journey Into Day"—about the Truth and Reconciliation
Commission in South Africa—was held at the Castro
Theater in San Francisco. The event began with a gala
pre-reception for sponsors. Commentary by the filmmakers
and South Africans who appeared in the film followed
the screening. Afterwards, a celebration was held throughout
the theater.
